Get ready to shed your dry skin (and winter coat) and embrace spring! As the days get warmer, we naturally shift our skincare, our beauty routines, and even our food choices! When it comes to beauty trends, natural products, minimalism, and self-care are at the top of the list this spring. Put your best face forward and welcome spring with these top 5 beauty trends:

1. Less Is More

This spring, I am seeing a huge push in the less is more direction when it comes to makeup. A quick coat of mascara and you’re out the door. This means that skincare is more important than ever. I love the look of natural skin for every day, so put your best skin forward! Natural, non-invasive treatments such as cosmetic acupuncture, facial cupping, and enzyme+oxygen facials help give you skin you feel confident showing off.

2. Full-Body Skin Care

Skin care doesn't stop at your face - this spring, I am seeing a lot of total-body beauty skin treatments including anti-cellulite body sculpting, daily exfoliation (such as dry brushing), and the use of skincare oils all over the body in order to kick up the antioxidant and protective benefits we usually get from body lotion.

3. Skincare Superfoods

This spring, people have really taken notice that great skin starts from within the body. Beauty supplements are a big trend right now; luckily, some of the best beauty supplements are already right in your kitchen. Bone broth, avocados, and turmeric are some examples of things you can put inside your body in order to boost your skin’s health and glow.

4. Let It Breathe

Spring is the perfect time to give your skin a breath of fresh air. Too often, our skin spends the winter stifled under layers of cosmetics and products, most of which we don’t actually need. Spring is the perfect time to give your skin a break and simplify, simplify, simplify. Try to limit the number of products that you wear under your makeup in the morning to one or two, and make sure to give your skin the ingredients it needs most - such as antioxidants, moisture, and sun protection.

5. Treat Yo’ Self

Self care is *IN* this year. However, I think this is a trend that is here to stay. Once we see the benefits of self-care routine (calmer mind, beautiful skin, better sleep, etc). we tend to want to keep it up! Most of us are trying to carve out more time for ourselves - whether it be at the gym, at our favorite spa, or by indulging in at-home skincare rituals.  An easy at-home self-care routine is a weekly soak in the tub; add a few drops of lavender and rose essential oils to amp up the relaxation quotient. Power tip: Take your soak approximately one hour before bedtime in order to take advantage of your body’s natural temperature response mechanism that helps us fall asleep and stay asleep.
