It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which involve tailoring treatment to each patient’s body constitution. At Scottsdale Integrative Acupuncture, we continue this tradition by personalizing Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture based on your specific needs. How Does It Work?

A practitioner specializing in Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is able to analyze factors contributing to aging based on the philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  With the aid of this information, extremely thin, disposable needles are inserted at specific points on the face and other parts of the body to improve circulation and invigorate the facial area.

“I had the Facial Rejuvenation with Acupuncture...it was amazing. Never experiencing acupuncture before, I was a little afraid. This was painless!!! I had to look to see where the needles were, because I could not feel them. Along with an incredible facial, I was educated both nutritionally and cosmetically. This is a perfect approach for me as I have just turned 60, and looking for a non-surgical route to looking and feeling younger.”

Can I have cosmetic acupuncture if I have had botox?

In most cases, it is acceptable to use cosmetic acupuncture to help maintain youthful-looking skin if you have had Botox injections.

Why choose cosmetic acupuncture over a face lift?

While not a replacement for surgery, Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is an excellent alternative. It is far less expensive than cosmetic surgery and is safe, virtually painless, and has no side effects or risk of disfigurement (slight bruising can occasionally occur). This is unlike surgery, which may have an extended recovery period with swelling and discoloration. There is no trauma from Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and if it does not suit you, it can be stopped with no ill effects.

What is the course of treatment?

The course of treatment is between 10-15 sessions.  Ideally, these should be done 1-2 times per week for best results.  Each individual will respond differently to the treatment, depending on their age and lifestyle. Visible results will be noticeable after 6 -7 sessions. Maintenance may be needed once every month.

Each treatment lasts approximately 90 minutes.

“Scottsdale Integrative Acupuncture is amazing! I’m currently undergoing the facial rejuvenation acupuncture treatments. After only a few treatments, I’m already seeing improvements in my skin tone, texture, and appearance. My “worry lines” between my eyebrows are softer and my friends are telling me that I look rested and happy! I’m also sleeping better and I have more energy. Each treatment is relaxing and soothing; it’s like being at a very high-end spa. Shelley takes the time to understand my individual concerns and to customize each treatment just for me. She explains everything and makes me feel very comfortable. I can’t recommend this place enough - if you are looking for the non-surgical way to look your best, you can’t go wrong at Scottsdale Integrative Acupuncture!”

Does it really work?

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has been performed for thousands of years in China. As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD), Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture techniques were performed on the Empress for facial revitalization as well as overall health and longevity. Since this time, the use of acupuncture for cosmetic purposes has gained popularity worldwide.

Recent scientific studies investigating Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture have shown this to be an effective and safe modality. Research has demonstrated that Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture to be an effective therapy with marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects included: improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles, increased moisture content, improved skin appearance, leveling of wrinkles, increased facial circulation, and overall rejuvenation not confined to face [1,2,3,4].
