How Microneedling Works

Stimulate Collagen and Skin Cell Production

Microneedling creates tiny wounds in the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and new skin cells while increasing blood flow and circulation. These microscopic wounds allow deeper penetration of specialized serums, which aid in collagen and skin cell production.

Optimal Results with Combined Therapies

Microneedling is most effective when combined with:

  • Photobiomodulation (red light therapy)

  • Body acupuncture

  • Herbal serums

Treatments take from 30 to 60 minutes and in most cases produce visible results after the first treatment. The number of treatments needed depends on the condition being treated and the overall health of the patient. By incorporating body acupuncture points, the general constitution of the patient can be improved to support the effects of the microneedling treatments. The results from a completed course of treatment can last 3 to 5 years without retreating. 

Microneedling was originally performed using what is known as a Derma Roller, but with the advances in technologies, I am now able to perform the procedure using an electric pen. The Microneedling pen is generally better tolerated by the patient than the original Dermal Roller as the needling depth and pressure are more controlled, and the absorption rate of the specialized serum is increased, leading to more satisfactory results.
